More of the Joplin Missouri Tornado, May 22, 2011.
Here is a picture of the tornado that hit Joplin MO, and a couple pictures of the Wal-Mart that I used to work at (that's all that's left is a couple shelves of the pet department).
Joplin Missouri Tornado, May 22, 2011
Dear Readers:
Please keep the town of Joplin Missouri in your thoughts, and send good vibes their way.
Yesterday, the town I grew-up in, went to school in, and lived in was destroyed by a F4/F5 tornado. Here is an amazing video of the actual tornado forming:
I was born in Joplin Missouri in 1987, but I originally lived in Carthage, Missouri which is about twelve miles away Joplin, so whenever my family would go out and do something Joplin is where we would go. I grew-up going to the stores, movie theatre, and parks.
I graduated from high school and attended Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin MO and lived in the dorms for three years of that time.
I met Todd in Joplin, and moved into his apartment with him in 2009, and the following autumn we moved into a house, our very own house!
Three months ago we moved to Atlanta and things are going very well, and only getting better.
Yesterday, I had the day off, so we planned a pool party and barbecue with our good friend Kristi. We spent the afternoon and evening swimming, cooking, playing games, and having a blast. When we got home last night though we found out what had happened to my old home. It was unbelievable, Joplin was destroyed and flattened, its a surreal thought. The morning when I left Joplin, everything was the same as it always was; quiet, cool, just the same as I remember it, but now most of the town I knew is gone.
Thankfully I live in Atlanta, because I would have been right in the path of the tornado. I lived a block away from Rangeline (a road that was destroyed in the storm) in a tiny house that would have been blown over like a house of sticks and worked at the Rangeline Wal-Mart (only the front facade is left, the area where I work is ruined). The apartment that Todd and I first lived in together was also completely destroyed.
I would have been at work when the tornado hit, it is a shocking realization that I would have been there if I was still in Joplin, and I might have survived or I might have died. As of now the death toll is as high as 90...
I wish I could be there to help but everyone back home is in my thoughts, and thankfully everyone Todd and I know is safe and accounted for.
Most sincerely,
W.B. Fair

Rodney the Zombie. Issue #2. Set #4.
Hello everyone!
Here is the newest installment of "Rodney the Zombie" issue #2.
Previous Installments:
Set #1: Sunday, March 20, 2011.
Set #2: Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
Set #3: Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
Sorry for the delay everyone, life has been good but a little crazy. I have been working and sleeping mostly, but I have had a little time to do other stuff. For the past week I have been devoting my free time to working hard on getting my store up and running and all the kinks out of the system. I have finished page two on my new project, and moving on to page three. Hopefully I can find a happy medium for working on everything equally so that I don't fall behind on anything again! Blogging took a backseat, and so did comic reading...I haven't even been able to enjoy the spoils of Free Comic Book Day...this evening though I am going to take some time to relax and read!
You do the same! Enjoy some great comics!

May is: Zombie Appreciation Month!
May is officially the greatest month ever! Not only does my birthday fall during this month, but I found out recently that it's a month appreciating everything Zombie. Of course if there's a month appreciating my most favorite things, and yes Zombies are one of my most favorite things in this entire world, I am definitely going to celebrate it and I urge you to celebrate it too! From comics to movies, across all genres I can't get enough of Zombies.
Finding out that this was Zombie Appreciation Month caused me to think 'what started this love for Zombies?'
I first experienced Zombies in Jr. High School when I watched the original Night of the Living Dead; I wanted a scary movie so I rented it (I have always been a horror movie fan). I got my popcorn and snacks and had the room dark, and even though I had been a little (...a lot) desensitized by modern horror films the 1968 classic scared me. The way it was filmed, and the story, the suspense, it was amazing. I had to watch it over and over. Let's pause a moment and thank George A. Romero for everything that he has done!
During that time Resident Evil was also popular, so those two films sparked a passion that has gotten and is only going to get stronger!
A little after that time I discovered the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Anita Blake is a vampire hunter but also she raises the dead for a living; she has the special ability to make zombies! This series has many great qualities, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
What was your first experience with Zombies? Leave a comment!
For this event I have created a design that is being sold on the Dementia Comics Store. There is a cool button, tote bag, and two different shirt possibilities (shown below) with the design on them. Celebrate Zombies all year long with one of these fun products!
Either way, celebrate Zombies in your own way, and have fun doing it! Have a Zombie movie night, make a themed party, or read a novel/graphic novel. You might even be able to join a group in your town that has Zombie Walks or other Zombie activities.
Enjoy!
